Line Mt. celebrates week of kindness

Students at Line Mountain Elementary celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Week by focusing on the positive. According to an article in the Daily Item, the program was part of the school’s participation in Penn State University’s Project Team, an anti-bullying effort. Students attended a pep rally where they shouted positive cheers, read excerpts from a book about kindness, sang and danced to songs with positive messages. They also built a “chain of kindness” where kind acts they received or had done for others were written on pieces of paper that were then linked together to form a heart. Teachers and other school staff members gave tickets to kids when they caught them engaging in kind behaviors to reinforce the positive choices.
