Middle Bucks students help cancer survivors THRIVE

Middle Bucks Institute of Technology and Central Bucks Family YMCA – Doylestown Branch recently launched a new partnership that offers high school students studying sports therapy and exercise management a clinical experience working with people in the THRIVE program, a 12-week group personal training program designed for people who have become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from battling cancer. Students worked under the guidance of specially trained personal trainers to assist participants in building muscle mass and muscular strength, increasing flexibility and cardiovascular endurance, and improving functional ability.
