Students gain valuable experience through Bridge to Employment program

On Friday, Norristown Area High School students participated in a field trip to Janssen Biotech’s manufacturing facility in Malvern as part of the Bridge to Employment program where they learned:
- To follow the step by step directions of proper mathematical measurements in creating a compound
- How enclosed manufacturing site operates via a virtual tour
- The precise “gowning” up process required prior to entering the secure manufacturing site
Additionally, career coaches taught students about networking techniques and collaborated in learning to increase confidence in stressful situations such as job interviews and school presentations. Forty-four 10th graders participate in the Bridge to Employment program that provides resources, field trips, workshops and college courses in partnership with Johnson & Johnson and Janssen Biotech.
