Pequea Valley Intermediate School gets flute master classes
Pequea Valley School District | Posted on
Local professional flautist Morgann Davis spent a morning at Pequea Valley Intermediate School (PVIS) working with flute players in grades 7 and 8. Davis led two, 30-minute master classes and covered such techniques as air supply/air direction, quality tone production, proper embouchure, upper register playing and how to develop vibrato. Students enjoyed meeting and working with Davis and hearing about how she makes her living as a professional musician and private teacher. In addition to conducting the master classes, Davis sat in for a band rehearsal and did an interview with the PVIS Band President Marina Martin (grade 8). The interview was filmed for airing on the morning announcements at school.
