Pequea Valley Vocabulary Bowl Pennsylvania Province State Champions for 2018-19!

On Friday, May 17, 2019, Pequea Valley High School was named Vocabulary Bowl Pennsylvania Province State Champion for 2018-19!

More than 1.37 million students from over 39,700 schools across North America participated in this year’s Vocabulary Bowl and collectively mastered over 35 million words.

Between October 1st and April 30th, Pequea Valley learners mastered 43,736 words which is more than any other school in Pennsylvania.

A special congratulations to Briana Garbanzo 7th grade, Abigail Stoltzfus 10th grade, and Juelz Lynch 7th grade for collectively mastering 1645 words! Pequea Valley recognizes that vocabulary knowledge is fundamental to strong literacy skills and wish to thank their learners for their commitment to vocabulary improvement.

This could not have been done without the dedication of teachers like Ms. Olivia Sieg, Mr. Tom Kaufmann, Mr. Peter Bennett, Mrs. Tara Reed, Ms. Stephanie Herr, Mr. Mike Choi, and Mr. Greg Hundermark. Pequea Valley looks forward to mastering more words and defending our title next year!
