Pequea Valley hosts Mass Customized Learning Summit

On Friday, October 21, Pequea Valley SD (PVSD) hosted the Mid-Atlantic Mass Customized Learning (MCL) Summit. MCL allows students to learn at an optimal rate, choose from many learning styles, and learn through technology, innovation, relevance and involvement.

More than 200 educators from 25 school districts and education agencies, including the PA Department of Education, were in attendance to see how the district is customizing traditional structures of school to meet its learners’ needs.

Guests heard about the PVSD Mass Customized Learning vision from Dr. Erik Orndorff, superintendent, and Richard Eby, assistant to the superintendent, and were welcomed by Dr. Thomas Butler from Allegheny IU 8 and Dr. Patrick Crawford of the Professional Leadership Development Center. Guests toured classrooms at Paradise Elementary School and Pequea Valley High School to hear from learners and facilitators who are putting PV’s Mass Customized Learning vision into practice.
