Badging program encourages professional growth

One of the key goals in the Red Lion Area School District’s PDE Comprehensive Plan is to provide differentiated professional development opportunities to enhance the skill levels of our teachers. It is often difficult to find quality blocks of time during the school day to offer a variety of learning opportunities. Superintendent Dr. Scott Deisley suggested expanding upon the #ObserveMe concept and design a program that allowed teachers to learn at their own pace, place and time. The result is the creation of “Level Up, Red Lion!” This program encourages professional staff to complete activities on their own time, working toward badges similar to those earned by Boy/Girl Scouts.
