Beginning in 2018-19 academic year, all students graduating from Northgate High School learn fundamental skills in the field of Computer Science. The Northgate Board of School Directors voted to ensure that to provideĀ  students with a more competitive foundation for postsecondary success, students need to be exposed to the fast-growing field. To facilitate the new graduation requirement, administrators worked with faculty to eliminate older courses and replace them with a course that follows the expectations set forth by the College Board’s Computer Science Principles course. In addition to exposing students to basic Computer Science, the CS Principles course also sets additional students up for subsequent success in AP Computer Science A, a more advanced line-based development course.
