Robert Morris Elementary earns prestigious Blue Ribbon School designation

The U.S. Department of Education announced that Robert Morris Elementary School is one of 349 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2018. Robert Morris is one of 19 schools recognized in Pennsylvania. Schools are honored for one of two categories — exemplary high-performing schools or exemplary achievement-gap closing schools. Morris received the coveted award for closing the achievement gap over the last five years, meaning students in subgroups, such as economically disadvantaged and special education, are now performing at rates closer to that of all students. The school, which has an enrollment of about 330 students, received high marks last year on its state School Performance Profile for closing the achievement gap.
