STEAM opportunities extend learning into summer

Wyomissing Area School District  |  Posted on

Wyomissing students have a new way to bridge the “summer gap.” The district’s STEAM Academy offers a variety of two-hour courses, from theatre arts to robotics, for K-8 students. Courses are taught by district educators and are offered as a lower-cost option to other activities in the area. In addition, the district partners with Reading Area Community College to offer a weeklong STEAM Summer Learning Camp for students in grades 8 and 9. Participants engage in a variety of hands-on learning opportunities in fields such as forensics, engineering design, environmental science and biotechnology inside the labs at the Schmidt Training and Technology Center.
