Student earns placement at National History Day competition

Emily Wahlenmayers, a student at Girard High School has had much success with her paper “The Lowell Mill Girls: Revolutionary Opportunity and the Progressing Tragedy of Wages.” She won first place for the paper at the statewide competition and progressed on to the national round in Washington, DC. At nationals, she represented Pennsylvania among 50 states, three territories, and three international schools. She won seventh place in the Historical Paper category.
