Towanda Area event encourages literacy and community

J. Andrew Morrow Primary School in Towanda Area SD creatively combined literacy and family/school connection efforts during a recent Family Bingo Night. The event was held to promote reading and provide an opportunity for students’ families to visit the school. Participants played Bingo, with winners receiving a book, and teachers from each grade level donated gift baskets for students to win for attending the event. The Scholastic Book Fair was open for people to browse and purchase books. Snacks and drinks were donated by the school’s PTO and the local branch of First Citizen’s Community Bank.
