Visit to WNEP

After a long-term residency with Rand Whipple, high school students in Broadcast Journalism have begun to produce the school news on a regular basis. With at least two episodes per week, the students script, record, edit and publish the broadcasts in place of morning announcements. The recordings are also published to the website for review following the initial broadcast. The students continue to learn valuable skills in addition to those associated with media production. Students regularly work together to develop broadcasts, meet deadlines, troubleshoot problems and solicit input from their peers on future shows. Under the direction of Jenn Earnest, the students traveled to WNEP last fall to observe and learn about real-time media production.
