Well-known author offers writing workshops to middle school students

Seventh- and eighth-grade students at Fleetwood Area Middle School had the opportunity to participate in writing workshops with Jordan Sonnenblick, the author of Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie. Seventh-grade students at Fleetwood read the book in English language arts. The fictional story chronicles the life of a 13-year-old boy whose brother is diagnosed with leukemia. Sonnenblick spoke to the students about the overall message in the book and offered the writing workshops for those who expressed an interest. He also signed copies of his book.
