Yough SD boosts soft skills through Career Awareness Initiative

Through a partnership with the Consortium for Public Education, Yough SD kicked off the 2016-17 school year with its Career Awareness Initiative. Part of the initiative aims to bring awareness to the top soft skills employers look for in their employees and help the future workforce develop these skills. Each month, students and staff focus on one soft skill area to introduce, reinforce and focus on:

• September – etiquette in school and/or the workplace
• October – plan, organize & prioritize
• November – teamwork
• December – resourcefulness
• January – decision-making
• February – problem solving
• March – technology skills
• April – writing skills
• May – verbal communication
