BEA supports district mom diagnosed with cancer

When Danielle McHenry was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, the Bald Eagle Area School District wanted to make sure she knew she wasn’t alone in the fight against the disease. Through 105 T-shirt sales and additional donations, $1,060 was raised before Christmas break for the mother of four.
The district has been accepting donations since before the holidays to support the McHenry family, whose children attend Bald Eagle Area Middle and High School and Port Matilda Elementary School.
T-shirts that say “Fight Like a Girl” were ordered by the Parent Teacher Organization at Port Matilda Elementary School. T-shirts were made by Basalla Embroidery and McHenry was provided with a free shirt from the company.
