Students in the Palisades High School Global Studies Pathway have the advantage when it comes to embracing international perspectives. Students who choose this option must complete a group of core courses including advanced language classes, plus some interdisciplinary elections such as journalism or marketing. They must also take seminar capstone course which guides the students in reflection and discussion on topics such as environment, racism and Third World development. Field experiences such as participating in events with a global perspective, and cultural and career experiences centered on interactions with different cultures, are also a required part of the program of study. Global Studies students recently participated in a United Nations Conference on Students Seeking Solutions on worldwide water sustainability. According to a Palisades newsletter, the conference connected college and high school students with international experts from around the world. Twenty-six Palisades High School students attended this conference through an invitation by Lehigh University.
