Pennsbury offers onsite clinical counseling services

Pennsbury School District  |  Posted on

Pennsburg SD is addressing the issues of addiction and mental health by providing clinical counseling to students and families onsite at Pennsbury East High School. The district’s Addiction and Mental Health Task Force is behind the new service in partnership with St. Mary Medical Center and Family Service Association of Bucks County. The district also signed on with the Caron Foundation, a nonprofit organization specializing in behavioral health and addiction rehabilitation. Caron representatives conduct assessments at the school for students who need help and refer them to the onsite mental health services at the high school. Eventually the district hopes to expand the program to middle and elementary students and families as well. In addition to counseling services, the school has also offered several community forums focused on mental health and continues to plan ways to expand collaborative efforts with other local agencies.
